Big Surf Water Park in Tempe, Arizona

A good-sized water park, Big Surf jam-packs over 15 slides into its 20-acre facility. Opened in 1969, it boasted the first wave pool in the United States. The park celebrated their 40th year anniversary in 2009.

Rides in Big Surf Water Park:

Waikiki Beach. Original North American wave pool and is ranked as the third largest according to size/volume. It holds 2.5 million gallons of water and produces a wave every 3 minutes.

Otter Slides. These water slides are especially geared for the kids.

Bora Bora Bay. The perfect attraction for the climbing monkeys in your family.

Black Hole. Ride a tube down our dark enclosed slide.

Hurricane Slides. Plunge down either of the three body slides for the thrill of your visit.

Tornado Twisters. Race your family or friends down these twisting body slides.

Kilauea Cove Slides. Ride a single or double tube down this giant slide.

White Serpentine Slide. An exciting tube ride through several twists and turns that are sure to bring you back for more.

Tahitian Twisters. Slides for the kids.

Cyclone and Tsunami Slides. Plunge down these twisting slides to Mona Loa Bay below.

Captain Cook’s Landing. This area is for the toddlers in the group.

Every day, from 5:30 – 6 p.m., hold surfing sessions in the wave pool. Bring your own surf board or rent one in rental shop of the Big Surf Water Park. Host your next party here and we’ll take care of everything.

Discounts for guests under 48 inches, toddlers, over 55, and for those arriving after 3 p.m.
